What we keep and for how long

Every kind of data in your workspace has a retention period. You see it here and, for the four main kinds, you choose it in Settings > General > Data retention.

MailSolid · User guideReviewed for version 0.26.0

Who can do it: the owner and the admins see the periods in Settings; only the owner changes them.

Data How long we keep it
Health analyses and their history 90 days by default. You choose from 30 days up to the limit of your plan, at most 12 months.
DMARC aggregate reports The period of your plan by default. You choose from 30 days up to that limit, at most 24 months. There is no «Forever»: reports are heavy and their value is in the recent data.
Email file analyses (.eml) 90 days by default. You choose from 7 to 365 days. We keep the report; the file you upload is deleted within a day.
Real tests and their results 90 days by default. You choose from 7 to 365 days.
Workspace events (who changed what) 180 days.
Monitoring changes 12 months.
Monitoring alerts already sent 30 days.
DMARC alerts 90 days.
Contacts collected by your embedded tools 12 months.
TLS reports (TLS-RPT) 90 days.
PDF reports you export 30 days.
Files you upload to analyse 1 day.
Your logo While the workspace exists.
Invite and earn: who invited whom An encrypted fingerprint of the email, to avoid repeated rewards. It stays after the account is deleted; it cannot be turned back into the email.
  1. Open Settings, tab General, and go to Data retention.
  2. Write the number of days for each kind of data. Each field shows its range: it depends on your plan.
  3. Press Save retention.

Raising a period applies at once. Shortening it never deletes anything at once: we email the owner, keep the older data for 7 more days and only then delete it. The same happens when the plan of the workspace goes down. If you change your mind within those 7 days, raise the period again and nothing is deleted.

  • The last analysis of every domain you watch, so its status never goes blank.
  • The analysis of a «Run now» that is still running, and the one behind a monitoring alert that is still being sent.
  • A hosted DMARC or MTA-STS policy that is still active, with its versions.

For 7 days you can recover it. After that we delete everything in it: the analyses, the reports, the files and its settings.

Some records follow their own rules: billing and credits (accounting), the acceptance of the terms (legal), the log of what our support team does (365 days) and the list of addresses that asked not to receive email.
