MailSolid · User guideReviewed for version 0.21.0

Who can do it: anyone can sign in and create a workspace; whoever creates it becomes its owner. Inviting people and changing roles is for the owner and the admins.

On the MailSolid website, press Create account (top right). It opens the console with Create your account: enter your email and follow the same steps as to sign in. The first code you confirm creates the account; there is no password to choose.

There is no password.

  1. Open the MailSolid console and enter your email under Sign in.
  2. Press Send me the code. You get a 6-digit code.
  3. Enter the code, or press the button in that same email, and you are in.

If the code does not arrive within a minute, ask for another one. If too much time passes, the console asks you to start again with your email.

If you turned on two-step verification, after the code it asks for the one from your authenticator app (or one of your backup codes). You can also sign in with a passkey (fingerprint, face or screen lock) and, when they are available, with a Google or Microsoft account. Both are set up in My account. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft before connecting them, we ask once for the code sent to your email.

A workspace is a business with its domains and its team.

  1. If you have none yet, the console shows Create your workspace. If you already have one, open the workspace menu (top left) and choose Create another workspace.
  2. Enter the Business name.
  3. Press Create workspace.

You can own up to 10 active workspaces. If you look after the email of several clients, create one per client: each has its own domains, team and plan.

  • Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and pick another one from the list.
  • All my clients (in that same menu) shows all your workspaces, the most urgent first: critical or high problems, then DMARC sources to review, then recent alerts. You can search them by name.
  • The search at the top (Search or go to…, with Ctrl K or Cmd K) works too: type “Switch to” and the workspace name.
  1. Open Team in the sidebar.
  2. Under Invite your team enter the email and choose the role: Member or Admin.
  3. Press Send invitation. The person gets an email with a link that is valid for 7 days.
  4. The person opens the link, signs in with that same email and presses Join the team.

Until it is accepted, the invitation shows under Pending invitations, with a Cancel button. If you invite the same email again, the new invitation replaces the previous one. There are daily limits on invitations; if you go over, the console tells you which one and to try again the next day.

  • In Team, the owner or an admin changes a person’s role (except the owner’s) with the selector on their row; the change applies right away.
  • Remove takes that person’s access away immediately. Their account is not deleted: they just stop seeing this workspace.
  • Leave is how each person leaves a workspace; to come back, someone has to invite them again. The owner can neither leave nor change role.
  • “That person is already on the team”: they already have access; change their role from the list.
  • “That account is blocked”: it cannot be invited; write to support if you think it is a mistake.
  • Email is paused: if the console says email is paused and the invitation was not sent, try again later.
  • The invitation is no longer valid: it expired (7 days), was canceled, or was opened with a different email. Ask for a new one.

Can I see someone else’s workspace? Only the workspaces you were invited to or created yourself.

What happens if I delete a workspace? Only the owner can, by typing the workspace name in Settings. It stops working right away, but you can restore it from Your workspaces for 7 days. Only the owner can restore the workspaces the owner deleted, and not if they already own 10 active workspaces. After that its domains, results, team and settings are deleted.

Help center, at the bottom of the sidebar, opens these guides in another tab. Guide for this screen, in the top bar, opens the guide of the screen you are on (on a phone, only its icon shows).

Choose Search or go to…, or press Ctrl K (Cmd K on Mac). Enter a setting name, such as Time zone, and select it: its screen opens, the field is highlighted and receives focus. Searching never changes or saves a value. Results respect your role; guides open in another tab.

Domains lists and detail pages show the website icon beside its name. If the site has no supported icon or it cannot be retrieved, its initials appear instead. The name and diagnosis stay visible; the icon is only a visual aid.
